Kirk Anthony Kohler born August 22, 1959, passed away peacefully June 8, 2017 after his 2 1/2 year battle with ALS. He was not alone but surrounded by family. To many he was known as Captain Kirk and touched the lives of those around him daily. He worked at Sierra Pacific Industries in Richfield for over 22 years to make sure his family was supported. He was a very strong person which showed as he supported and cared for his family as well as battling this disease. Kirk was an adventurous man and loved doing many outdoor things. He loved camping every summer with his family and showing his kids how to fish. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and looked forward to the group rides on Sunday. Kirk also took pride and joy in his musical abilities and shared them with different churches by leading worship for many years. Kirk renewed his relationship with Christ which helped him spiritually throughout his battle. It also allowed him to offer support and advice to others in need. As many lives as he touched, he in turn was touched by them. He was given more support than he ever could have imaged and was constantly overcome with emotion for those who so willingly offered help. He will greatly be missed by not only family but friends and those whose lives he touched. Kirk is preceded by his mother Joann Kohler (2000) and survived by his father Brent Kohler, brother Kent Kohler, sister Tasha Nance, sister Edythe Kohler, daughter Jannelle Kohler and daughter Desiree Turner. The memorial will be held Saturday, June 17th at 2:00 pm. at Bridgeway Community Church located at 345 David Ave., Red Bluff.
